Emil Nava, famous director who is best known for his work on music videos, says that his job involves writing pitches for music videos on a day to day basis. It involves generating ideas from a brief given to him by the record label. After this he gathers a team to collect the right picture references so that who ever he is pitching it to will get the idea visual. If he wins the pitch, Emil will go into pre production with his team and get straight into it. He will be responsible for choosing the crew including camera operators and finding locations whilst gathering his cast. He says its all about leading his team and making decisions quickly to stay on schedule. After the pre production he goes straight into shooting which is very intense as music videos are usually shot over 1 or 2 days with little time, as the artist has other stuff to do and will only be available for a limited amount of time. After this it is post production which is slower and focuses on editing and GCI.

Just be aware of your spelling and grammar when you are typing - 'a famous direct' 'who ever' is whoever for example.
ReplyDeleteAlso be careful of using masculine or feminine terms - cameraman is in actual fact camera person also watch the use of slang ' artist has other stuff to do'
